Filesharing Review - Esnips and Fileden

The two filesharing sites - www.esnips.com and www.fileden.com provide the coolest way of sharing your files over internet for free. Once you are registered you will get your own folder in which you can store the files. I find them far better than the most popular sharing sites like rapidshare, megaupload etc... the reason is they delete files after certain period and creating a free account is not possible with them. On the other hand esnips and fileden provide a free service and files are safe (no inactivity limits). Well, there are options to delete your own files! Wow. fileden provides hot link to files (just like you own a web server) with 50 MB file limit.

Fileden's free account features:
Let's come to esnips. They give you 5GB storage space!!! Though it provides no hot links it is cool. It is also more like a social network where u can upload audio, video and add friends.

So, what are you waiting for. Go right away and register for your account using the following links.

Register at esnips
Register at fileden

Enjoy!

Hide drives and Partitions

Do you have data on a partition or hard drive that you don't want tampered with or easily accessible to other users? Well, you can hide any drive/partition in Windows XP, NT, and 2000. That means that they won't show up in Explorer or My Computer.

If you want access to that drive from your user account you should create a desktop shortcut before proceeding. Once hidden, you can still access by typing the drive letter and a colon in Start/Run—for example, "D:" will bring up a folder of the contents on your D drive.

The easiest way with Win XP is to use the TweakUI power toy. Go to Start/Run and type in "tweakui" (without the quotes).

Go to My Computer/Drives and uncheck the drive/partition(s) you want hidden. Click "Apply" or "OK" when finished.

If you dont have tweakUI get it here:

Gmail Themes!

Gmail is the best free email service without annoying ads and loads very quickly. The old gmail was a little bit boring with the blue-white appearance. Now gmail has a new feature to select from 30 pre-defined themes (cool!)... From minimalist grays to dynamic mountain landscapes, choose from over 30 options to personalize the look and feel of your Gmail account. To get started, check out the Themes tab under Settings.

In some cases, you can also customize by location. Some themes change during the day, and we use the location information you provide to correctly time these changes with your local sunrise, sunset, and/or weather. If you select one of these themes, you'll see a Country/Region drop-down menu appear. Select the country you want, and then enter a city in the field provided. If you don't enter a city, or enter an invalid one, we'll set your location to the capital city of the country you selected. When you're done, click Save.

Here I post a screenshot:

Forgotten XP Password

Because of the security features built into Windows XP, it is virtually impossible to get back into the system without the password.
You have several options to try and get around this problem.

If you have access to another user account with administrator rights, you can use that account to change the password
of the account that is locked out. You can also use the default Administrator account that is built into Windows XP.

First you need to boot the system into Safe Mode.
1.Restart your system.
2.When you see the POST screen, press the ( F8 ) key about 3 times a second.
3.You should get the Windows startup menu. Use the (Up or Down) arrow keys to highlight (SafeMode)
4.Press (Enter) on (Safe Mode), then press (Enter) on (Windows XP).
5.The system should boot to Safe Mode.

Once you are at the Account Log on Screen, click on the icon
for the user account with administrator rights, or click on the icon
for the administrators account.

Note: For Home the Administrator account isn't normally shown & in Safe Mode you have to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys twice to show.
For PRO you can do this in normal mode

When the system has booted to the desktop, use the following steps to change the accounts password.
1.Click Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools.
2.Click Computer Management.
3.Double click Local Users and Groups, double click the folder Users.
4.Right click on the account name that is locked out, and click on Set Password.
5.You may get a warning message about changing the password, simply click proceed.
6.Leave the New Password box blank, also leave the Confirm Password box blank.
7.Click OK, and OK again.
8.Then close all Windows, reboot the system and try to log in.
